I'm feeling rather BAH - Humbug today
I'll spare you all the details of how

but
yesterday was just one of those days......
Remember all the baking I did this weekend for gifts?

Remember all the baking I did this weekend for gifts?
I put cookies in this beautiful tree jar
and
wrapped them with a beautiful bow
for my aunt and uncle
well
My Mom and I set on on a bitter cold day
to deliver gifts
I had put the cookie jar in a box
just for travel
we made several stops including lunch
we got back in the car
and as I turned the car on I heard 2 very loud
POPS
My Mom and I looked at each other and said
"whats that?"
then we heard
SHATTERING GLASS
THE COOKIE JAR COMPLETELY SHATTERED
I don't know if it was the cold or what
I just wanted to cry
sooooooooo
I owe my aunt & uncle
more cookies after
Christmas
I came home to my kitchen counter looking like this

Oh what a shame that your jar of cookies exploded! It must have been the cold, I guess -- don't know what else could have caused it to happen.
ReplyDeleteBut your home is looking lovely, decorated, and serene for Christmas, so I think you've got things well under control!
Cass
It is shame about the cookies, you didn't put them in still hot did you?
ReplyDeleteThat might have caused it to expand a bit and with cold, kablooey.
Love your decorations and the chair hats is very clever.
Debbie
Oh, Lynn .... this cold snap has been brutal! I'm so sorry your beautifully wrapped cookies got the worst of it yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOn a cheerier note, your home is looking lovely, warm, and welcoming for Christmastime.
All the best as you ready the final "magical" touches, whatever they may be...
No they weren't hot......Debbie as I had made them over the weekend and they have to cool to frost them....just one of those days I guess...
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so beautiful and festive, and your cookies look YUMMY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! :(
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye for color and proportion...a rather geeky compliment I'll admit, but from the heart. =)
Oh, what a shame, I know that thinner
ReplyDeleteglass can't take extreme temps, but who
would have thought of that when out delivering?
Your home is beautiful and I really love
the reindeer with the fence around them,
how cute! Those trees are beautiful...
Merry Christmas!

Oh I would have cried right then and there!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE what you did on the back of the chairs - just adorable and the rest of your decor is wonderful!!
Your home is just FABULOUS!! I love the brush trees along with the Clauses.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the cookies....a similiar thing happened to me a few years. I use only decorative tins now.
Merry christmas!
Hugs,
Shari
Sorry to hear about the pretty cookie jars :( Your home looks lovely, and your Santa hats turned out nice. Have a Happy Holiday Season Blessings, Leah.
ReplyDeleteLynn, that Christmas tree jar was soooooo cute, not to mention all the work you put in making the cookies. I'm glad your day calmed down and turned out as it should. Where can I start...the hats on the chairs are genius, so cute. I was rolling when I saw the reindeer - behind the fence, so they couldn't wander all over your table....love it
