HIGH TIDE TAVERN

It's thyme to TAKE CARE OF MY HEART

TAKE CARE OF MY HEART
is
 a new design
 that I have painted
for
Painting With Friends

I painted this design on a wood pizza peel

BUT
it would look great on many surfaces!

this design was inspired
by
Terrye French

The snowmen were painted using
 a
"dry brush".

Layers of drying brushing
added a nice contour to the snowmen

Adding facial details

I kept my colors soft.

This was a fun pattern to paint!!!

You can purchase this

We ALL need some QUALITY THYME!

Who
 doesn't need
MORE THYME?

There never seems to be enough hours in the day!
Especially to paint!

I found this old metal lamp at a thrift store

I decided that it would be the perfect surface to paint a design
by
John Sliney
on

I cleaned and base coated the lamp
the base is about 14" wide

I used a design called
QUALITY TIME SAM

I have also painted this design a few thymes on milk cans

I painted the TOP like a folded flag

painting the stars

I painted saltboxes on the back

close up of the back of lamp

I added several coats of clear matte varnish when finished to protect the surface
With a shade on top the lamp measures about 30" tall.

I used designs from John Slineys books
A Road to America's Past
and
A Road to Saltbox Memories
to paint this lamp

THYME for a sunroom makeover

I decided to go with an
AMERICANA
theme throughout my home
so I decided to start by painting my sunroom floor

I had painted the brown and gold checks on the floor
when we first bought the house
after ripping out the carpet that was there

I first roughed up the floor by sanding it with an electric sander
I then proceeded to tape off my design
In order for my floors to with stand the heavy
wear that they would be subjected to in the sunroom
I used a poly whey additive to make the paint more durable for floors
The product I used
was
 from
Vermont Natural Coatings
and
 is
 called
Paint Plus with Poly Whey Additive

I painted the field and stars first

I then did the RED stripes

That way I could walk across the floor while the paint
was still wet in the areas that would
 become the
WHITE stripes

I finished my floors with
4 coats of
Aqua Zar
Interior Water Based Polyurethane
in
CLEAR SATIN

I spray painted all my
WHITE wicker RED

here are some daylight pictures

I used a stencil to do some of the pillow fronts

My finished room!

I love the new summery look!

Happy Painting!

"Each day is a new canvas to paint upon.
Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness,
and
at the end of the day you don't look at it
and
wish you had painted something different."
