Thyme to show you a Cynthia Erickson design called Sleighmakers Inn

I found this antique fireplace bellow at a thrift shop
and
decided to paint
Cynthia Erickson
design on it

It is always fun to find unique and interesting pieces to paint on.
I am always on the lookout for such pieces!

I had to modify the design some to fit my surface.
I sanded the surface and prepped it with a base coat of black
followed by a coat of red
letting some of the black show thru.

This is such a pretty design to paint!

I found some perfect homespun and bells to add to my piece

I made a grundy tag that said
SLEIGHMAKERS INN
for my piece

I love how it turned out!

Happy Painting!

It is thyme to chase the snowflakes

TAKE THYME TO CHASE THE SNOWFLAKES
is
a new design that I have painted
for

PAINTING WITH FRIENDS

I used an old cabinet door that I found at a
thrift shop as my surface

Prepping and base coating my surface

Transferring the design

I started by adding the snowflakes, then trees in the distance

next I started painting the salt boxes

and skating snowmen!

Now to paint more snowmen!

They are
 so much fun to dress!

Now lets paint a penney rug border!
I used a circle template for this.

I use a fine line writing pen to do the blanket stitch edge around pennies

I added a large snowflake and lots of
diamond dust

This was a fun pattern to paint!
You can purchase
 this e-pattern

Thyme to meet FATHER SNOW

DO NOT PIN MY PHOTOS TO PINTEREST
Father Snow is a new design that I just completed for
Painting With Friends!

I love to go junking for pieces to add to my
painting "stash"

Old wood antique iron boards make
wonderful surfaces to paint on

I used a very LARGE stippler brush to paint the background

I leave some of the original background showing thru for a nice prim look!
I stenciled on some snow flakes for the background.
To give your painting depth and dimension paint some of the snowflakes in a lighter shade. They will then appear to be in the distance.

Now the fun part!
Painting the design!

the
SNOWMAN

 and now to paint
FATHER SNOW!

I love painting BEARDS and FUR!

They take a lot of patience!

Adding some fur and details!

And his face!

and
CANDY CANE!

The TWIG TREE and SNOWIES!

LOTS
of
DIAMOND DUST
for
SPARKLE!

The
BALSAM Tree

even
SPARKLES!

I even addded
 tiny BELLS
to
FATHER SNOW'S
shoes!

I also made some
FAUX SNOWBALLS
and
added a tutorial to make them in the pattern packet!

There is a lot of work that goes into a pattern packet
Painting instructions, line drawings and photos!
Typing is my LEAST favorite part of making a pattern packet

It ALWAYS helps to have a room with a view!!!

You may purchase the pattern packet for
FATHER SNOW
in my pattern shop

Happy Painting!
