Tis the SEAson! Are you ready?

Yes it is the SEAson.........a very busy thyme for sure in my STUDIO!

Step inside to see what I have been working on!

OH.....don't be fooled by the "neatness" this is one of my archive pictures that I'm using!
I wouldn't dare post a picture
of the
"organized creative mess
my
STUDIO
is in
at the moment!

Even with the help of my
ELF HINKLEY
I am still feeling a bit behind!

HINKLEY
has
 been packing boxes

of
  Christmas MAGIC
as fast
as
I can get all my projects painted!

Today
I wanted to show you my latest project !
I decided to paint something for me!

Tis the SEAson
is a design
by
Cynthia Erekson

This packet included 2 designs!

My Palette

Antique Gold, Camel, Coral Shell, Driftwood, Milk Chocolate, Warm White, Arbor Green, Charcoal Grey, Dove Grey, Heritage Brick, Neutral Grey, Bleached Sand, Coral Blush, Deep Burgundy, Lamp Black, Plantation Pine

Let's Paint!

This project was painted
 on
vintage toweling

Painting on fabric can be a bit intimidating
but
having the right
tools, brushes and paint
really makes it quite easy
 and
fun!

I used a
 Sewline Roller Ball Tracer Pen
 and
white graphite paper
to transfer my design
to
 the fabric
(This tool will not rip your pattern and helps to easily transfer lines to cloth)

I also keep a TIDE to Go Pen handy
for any accidental paint smudges
on your fabric that
hopefully won't happen!

I used
Scharff Moon  and Stain It
series brushes
along with
Silver Brush LTD.
Ultra Mini , Designer Rounds and Lettering Brush

The Santa's are undercoated
using
thinned paint
with the
Stain It brush

Using thinned paint
on the cotton cloth
allows it
 to
remain
 soft and pliable

Painting coat and other details

Painting face and beard

Finished!
I heat set the paint with a hot iron and pressing cloth prior to sewing

Now to stitch my pillow!

Pillow #1 is done!

Starting the second pillow

These designs painted up really quick!

Second pillow is done!

While I was working on the pillows I also needed a quick hostess gift!
I had a small wood sled in my "stash"

I base coated it
and
painted one of the Santa designs on it

DecoArt
provided me with the products
to
complete these projects
as part of
 their

    1. Thank you so Brenda! I mostly use Scharff brushes which I buy when I go to NET but they can be purchased directly from Scharff online. I also have a lot of Silver LTD brushes for detail work.
